Our five-day program aims to familiarize students with campus, with each day featuring new resources that are designed to support them throughout their academic journey. Participants will have peer counselors assigned to them who will serve as their mentors and guides during the program, including activities like Peer Counselors Connection and group dinners. There is also a two-day parent program.

The Intercultural Center launched 4MILE in the fall of 2006 with the enduring mission to ensure that new multicultural and international students feel a deep sense of belonging at Bryant. The program aims to cultivate a sense of community among these students and offer the Intercultural Center as a home away from home. Structured around four foundational pillars — Personal, Cultural, Social, and Career Development — each 4MILE event or workshop is designed to focus on one of these crucial areas.

Once 4MILE ends, participants are automatically enrolled into our mentorship program. Steps to 4MILE Peer Counselors will guide students through the multitude of ways they can get involved on campus, build community, and find their niche throughout the fall and spring semesters.

We understand that this can be a challenging time, and our supportive mentors are here to offer guidance, encouragement, and help so students can adjust smoothly.

Students will explore four pillars to complete the Steps to 4MILE program:

• MILE 1: 4MILE Community
  This theme focuses on activities that foster connections and engagement with peers to strengthen community ties. Events may include consistent meetings with your mentor, a celebratory mid-year banquet, and more.
   
• MILE 2: Jumpstart Success
  This theme is about preparing for success in both academic and professional life. Activities may include attending career fairs, participating in resume workshops, engaging in academic development workshops, and more.
   
• MILE 3: Engage, Empower, Elevate
  This theme emphasizes participation in PwC Center-hosted events that promote a deeper understanding of self and others, as well as personal well-being. Events may include community-building activities, wellness workshops, heritage month activities, and more.
   
• MILE 4: Leadership and Involvement Development
  This theme encourages taking an active role in campus life through leadership opportunities and involvement in student organizations. Activities may include attending the student organization fair, joining a student organization, running for an executive board position, applying for a student leadership role, and more.

Activities vary each semester. Students will receive a gift and an electronic certificate with the completion of the program.
