Program Highlights

As climate change continues to be one of our most pressing global challenges, there’s a growing urgency for businesses and organizations to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their operations. Through a concentration or minor in Sustainability and Climate Action, you’ll examine sustainability issues that span across business, healthcare, and environmental sectors to develop the necessary skills to integrate sustainability principles into your future career. Our program will give you the foundational knowledge and technical expertise to:

  • Analyze how climate action intersects with organizational practices, including emissions disclosures, greenhouse gas accounting, waste circularity, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) standards, transitioning to renewable energy, and nature-based solutions.
     
  • Develop strategic frameworks that can effectively integrate into organizational practices to reduce overall environmental impacts while promoting business innovation and entrepreneurship in ways that benefit consumers, employees, and corporate partnerships.
     
  • Find innovative solutions to real-world challenges through hands-on projects and case studies, giving you the problem-solving and critical thinking skills needed to address issues relating to sustainability and climate change through your professional field of study.
     
  • Lead key initiatives and communicate with diverse communities so you can advocate for equitable environmental sustainability efforts within your organization and larger community.
     
  • Foster a commitment to environmental stewardship by learning the mechanisms for climate action through your primary field of study.
