About This Program

As global issues such as climate change and sustainable resource develop continue to impact our society, a minor in environmental science will help support careers that span toxicology, sustainable development, resource and wildlife management, land use and reclamation, and green manufacturing. Environmental science minors will have the ability to:

Engage in an action-oriented curriculum that inspires you to address real-world environmental impacts.
Gain field experience through Bryant’s living laboratory of wetlands, forest, and aquatic environments.
Have access your first year to laboratory equipment, including a scanning electron microscope and fully equipped geochemistry lab.
Collaborate with a distinguished faculty mentor on research that’s published and presented at regional and national conferences — and could even lead to a patent.
Participate in 10-week paid summer fellowships funded by NASA, the National Science Foundation, and other organizations.

Environmental science minors must complete two Level 1 courses, one Level 2 course, and one Level 3 course to meet the requirements. Choose courses that best match your interests and career aspirations, including topics such as biology, geology, oceanography and coastal environments, climate change and sustainability, energy management, environmental policy, and toxicology.
