About This Program

Every organization needs skilled professionals to handle their most valuable asset — it’s employees. Investment in a strong HR presence leads to better employee engagement and delivers higher organizational performance. As a human resource management major, you’ll develop a complete understanding of all HR functions such as recruitment, employee orientation, training and career development, employment law and labor relations, performance appraisal, compensation and benefits, and conflict resolution. You’ll also discuss the contemporary issues and challenges found in today’s workforce and learn how to incorporate a global perspective in HR decision-making.

As part of our curriculum, you’ll participate in faculty-supervised internships that earn course credit, provide hands-on experience, and allow you to make valuable networking connections. These semester-long internships give you the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge you learn in the classroom in a real-world environment and gain critical experience that will set you apart from your peers.

Preparing students for professional exams is one of our top priorities. You’ll gain a solid foundation for SHRM certifications such as Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources, and Global Professional in Human Resources. After graduating with valuable credentials in the field, you’ll feel confident starting your new career.
