Program One-Year MBA
Why Bryant?

“I would recommend Bryant to anyone. I had a great experience, and there is a wonderful community at Bryant. Consider taking the MBA program, expanding your knowledge, meeting new people, and putting yourself out there — because it will give you a leg up on your next step in life.”

A native of Orillia, Ontario, Quintin Hoch-Bullen’s journey to Bryant University was a little different than most. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Denver after traveling to the U.S. on an athletic scholarship for lacrosse. She then made her way from the Rocky Mountains to coastal New England to complete her MBA. In her own words, she shares why she values her Bryant experience.

Why did you continue your education at Bryant University?

My best friend from Canada was also a lacrosse player, and she did her undergrad at Bryant. She mentioned they have a great One-Year MBA program. I visited her a couple times and absolutely loved it. When I heard about the program and the opportunities that were available, I did my research. I wanted to do a one-year program, and I saw Bryant had different specializations within the MBA. That was a big selling point, because I wanted to focus on international business and marketing and have the option of working abroad.

What are a few highlights of your Bryant experience?

The Global Immersion Experience, our international trip to Dubai, was awesome. Expanding our business knowledge across countries and seeing it first-hand — that was huge for me. It was so interesting to experience a different culture and how their businesses operate, while getting to make connections and network. That’s not something many people get the opportunity to do.

One of my favorite classes was International Marketing. Professor Eileen Kwesiga had experience working abroad, and she was so helpful. Having those conversations with professors sets smaller programs apart from bigger ones. You can ask questions and learn about how they progressed in their careers. There’s a lot of knowledge to gain from the professors at Bryant. It’s an enormous highlight to be able to speak with them one-on-one.

How has your Bryant degree impacted your career?

I’m living in the U.K. and working at One Day Agency. I started reaching out to agencies when I was preparing to move, and I used connections through Bryant’s faculty and alumni. Professor Kwesiga was great, too. She answered my questions about visas and working abroad. As an international student, I didn’t have many work opportunities outside of internships, so I didn’t have as much experience as others. But having the MBA caught some eyes. The contacts I reached out to were so excited to talk with me.

Why would you recommend Bryant?

Having that one-on-one connection with professors makes a difference. I came from a bigger school, and after joining a smaller environment, I saw how you can make the experience into what you need. That’s truly unique about a smaller university — you do have a personalized education.

I would recommend Bryant to anyone. I had a great experience, and there is a wonderful community at Bryant. Consider taking the MBA program, expanding your knowledge, meeting new people, and putting yourself out there — because it will give you a leg up on your next step in life.

“I’ve been able to study business and liberal arts at the same time through the international business program and my concentration of marketing. I’ve learned about the different focuses of business, from management to finance and accounting, while also combining the history, culture, and foreign language aspects of international business.”
